I got the DVD's for christmas. They are good as they should be. But it makes me happy as heck I've got the original triology on CED unedited/unaltered.![]()
And if you don't know what a CED is look it up. The internet is great

I think Lucas coulda easily provided a cleaned up original version on the DVDs and the extended versions. It would have been very easy to do.

Dumb question, but does Ian McDiarmid play Dath Sidious in ROTJ and the Original Trilogy or did they change that and go back to add him into ROTJ after the prequels were made?
A little confused, I remember a while ago they came out with the redone trilogy w/some new scenes added in and cleaned everything up and they came out in theatres, correct? Now is this thread about another update of the trilogy after the one I was talking about?Basically, if I go out and buy the trilogy on DVD right now what am I getting? Thanks.

It is my understanding that if you buy the DVDs, you will get the 'Special Edition' versions which were in theaters a few years back, and that they went and edited those further before releasing them on DVD.Oh, and yes Ian McDiarmid was really in ROTJ.

Hmm, I remember seeing the ones in the theatres and having seen the original trilogy 30 times I thought it was pretty good, but I haven't seen the new, new ending to ROTJ aparentely.Should've just cleaned everything up and left it as it was. Now that I think about it I know they added a scene with Han and Jabba in A New Hope that wasn't there apparentely he originally wanted the scene in the movie but couldn't do it so thats why he put it in in the special edition.
Quote, originally posted by Prelusion98 » They had Greedo shoot first. F*ck that, Han Solo is a bad-ass, and as such, should be portrayed as one. That was a great scene, because it portrayed Solo as the character he was- an indifferent, cold sonofabitch who only cared about himself. Hence, shoot first and ask questions later. But Lucas felt he had to "legitimize" Solo's first shot. Bull****. And don't even get me started on the young Anakin ghost disaster...
I agree I think it sucks that Han shoots first. I feel he was supposed to be selfish and uncaring and through the course of the movie changes into someone who is different. I always though it was Luke who seemed to have a positive influence to change him.
