    So-

(I just made this post in the general airhead forum, but then saw this one and thought it might work well here, too.)

I am in the process of buying my first house. When I have the place (won't be moved in until April), I will be putting a small work area in the basement. One of the things that I have wanted to do for a while now is get my hands on an airhead basket case and rebuild it.

Ideally, I would love to do something like a hybrid, with a nice strong early frame, and a later engine. I want to get a start in doing some more serious mechanical work, and I figured that an airhead might be a good place to start - relatively simple, etc. Any thoughts?

Also, I have some really neat ideas for finishing out the bike. I live within a fairly easy drive of Bob's BMW (LOTS and lots of parts, no mailorder, yay!!!!), and he had some pretty cool stuff at avintage museum event a while back. Airheads with certain modern updates can be SO cool.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas?

Quinner, you out there? I know you've got a hybrid.

    Ok...

I am still thinking about this.

I can't do it right away, due to the aforementioned fact that I am moving soon, and that I am also getting married soon.

But it is NOT too early to start thinking and planning, and most especially tracking down parts sources and such.

I live near Bob's, which can be a good parts source. But, I will also need a frame, engine, etc, if I am going to do this.

Anyone got any good ideas of where to go for stuff like that?
