This win isn't that surprising. I don't really root for Croatia but I love watching them play. They are an unpredictable team who can play some quality and aggressive soccer when they need to. I think they are capable of beating any team on a good day. Things will only get better once Eduardo da Silva comes back.

What a crap finish.Poland was dominating Austria for practically the entire game except the first half of the first half. Bogus call by the ref, Lewandowski just barely tugged him on the shirt and the Austrian gets an oscar.

That referee is garbage. He's the same guy who didn't know how to count to 2 at the last world cup and ended up giving a croat 3 yellows before sending him off. From reading an editorial he wrote last year before the england-croatia game on the subject, I actually assumed he was no longer reffing - he sounded like a complete nutcase.

I agree the goalie dropped the ball on his own but you can't make any contact with the keeper in the little box, that will get called every time regardless.I almost think that red card for schweini was a good thing. That kid needs to smarted up and pull his head out of his ass if he wants to play to his potential, rather than listen to people telling him how awesome he is. I don't know how he continues to hold a space in the team, he's been living off his reputation from a couple of games for years now with not much to show for it.

I think the outcome of the Austria-Poland game was well deserved for sides. They blew the call on the Poland goal and its fair that Austria had the opportunity to get the draw.

I don't think their game versus Italy was a fluke. They looked mighty good. I watched the game again last night and noticed only two - maybe three real opportunities that Italy had all game. If they play half as well against France, a win should be in order
