I watched it last night. I didn't watch Breaking Bad, but I still found the first episode to be one of the best bits of television I have seen in a long time.

I won't spoil much, but the fella that answered the door at the end of the episode was a big character in the early season(s) of Breaking Bad. definitely didn't expect to see that.

The parking booth at the courthouse had a nice cameo as well. Looking forward to how this plays out.

Actually there was another breaking bad character in the very first scene. Saul at the Cinnabon shop one of Mikes old hitmen. Guy who was stearing down Saul then got up and walked to a group of people.

I wasn't too sure about the episode, and the show in general, until about half way through. It caught my attention then.

I liked it, though the ishty car gag was played out in BB.

      Eagerly awaiting tonight's fun.

I went into this as just a Bob Odenkirk fan who had never seen a single BB episode, and I quite enjoyed it. I'm sure I'm missing some references, and moments that should be special end up meaning nothing to me, but I didn't feel like my experience was lessened, over all. It was quite funny as well.

      Same here!

It's a testament to good writing and characters when one doesn't need to have watched a predecessor show to enjoy the spinoff.

It's in the writing style and direction, plus the dusty backdrop.

The producers could almost create an anthology series - Albuquerque Stories.

of all the characters from the Breaking Bad world, I'm glad Saul is being expanded. I could never get enough of the character on that series, so a whole new series is great. plus, Bob Odenkirk kills it as Saul. hopefully we get to see some ol' Billy redface later in the series.

Great, another AMC series pulls me in.

On that note, I came into BB late in the game & was only done with the first couple seasons.
Mistake of Monday evening? I turned AMC on ~ 15 minutes before ep 1 of BCS came on.

...just enough time to see the last 10 minutes of the last episode of BB.

HUGE BB fan here. Fanatic, really. I thought the pilot for BCS looked somewhat promising, but felt it relied too much on BB nods and things seemed to be moving WAY too fast - why introduce Mike in episode 1? I guess they feel the need to lock in the fanbase.

      There were a few gems...

Remember this line from the basement of Ed's vacuum repair shop; "If I'm lucky, a month from now - best case scenario - I'm managing a Cinnabon in Omaha."? Love it.

The courtroom scene features a severed head. Tortuga, anyone??

The fact that a windshield was broken mere minutes into the series. (How many windshields were sacrificed in BB?)

Are the skate twins a nod to the Salamanca twins?

Looking forward to episode 2. It's on the DVR but haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

I was really looking forward to this since it was announced and got the, girlfriend in on it too, and was not let down. I loved both episodes and can't wait to see how this plays out.
