I already forget what the car looked like with chrome...thanks for reminding me.

I washed my car yesterday and it has poured off and on today. Off to Pittsburgh in the AM.

Got almost 17k miles on it, I am! I'll definitely be putting it into transport mode in the winters, though.

Nice thing is that our battery is only 109.99 at Costco. 42 month free replacement, too.

Sucks about the door, road debris?

I mentioned that I inadvertently ran into those power tour guys last week in Kansas City. Yeah, hard pass.

Don't get me wrong, I saw a LOT of really nicely done cars on I-70 heading out of town, but all together as a group? It's like a dubber meet with V8s

Most of the cars I encountered were going the speed limit and being very respectable it seemed. Except for one guy in a blacked out 2000's firebird. Do you remeber heading east on 74 going through Peoria? There are three driving lanes that funnel to two lanes just before the bridge with the normal on/off ramps. This guy was going from far right to far left and back multiple times.

I passed one of these(minus the wood) and I was in love.

So I was watching CHIPS today and the getaway car is an SS. I was really digging the car and thought it was cool they were using it. They end up burning the car in the end but as a stunt double they use a Malibu. Almost missed it. OUCH

Went wine tasting with my dad and let him bomb the SS around. Last year he drove my E9 around the wine country and had a blast. This year he drove the SS had a bit more fun than the stately cruise we did last year. He topped third out and I was like "ummm you're going pretty fast now...haha"

I hate to do it under warranty, but it's slowly getting worse but not bad enough to trigger a warranty replacement.

Forum surfing shows it's an issue with some TR6060's, and I have one of the ones with an issue. I also drive like an *******.

No problems in reverse for me, or even in second. I thought the second gear synchro, on every manual transmission vehicle with synchros ever, takes more abuse than its counterpart in any other gear. But with the SS, my problem has been in third. I haven't ground second once, but apparently 2-3 at high RPMs is where the ball of my left foot has to be hyperflexed against the clutch to ensure smooth operation. I've had a couple of painful sounding moments on onramps; I haven't chirped third in my SS, but I can sure as hell grind it!

I hope this active radar based stuff works better on self-driving cars than it does on my SS. When I'm backing out of my garage, unless I turn it off the car has a conniption; the radar sees stuff, computer has no idea if I'm going to hit any of it, so it just beeps a lot. It's also legally blind when trying to find parking spots to auto-back into.

Blue crewwww - where'd you go?

I drove up north this weekend to visit my family where I was seeing triple digits and had the AC blasting the whole time without a care, no drama at all. Man that's a nice feeling.

From Lincoln, NE to Las Vegas, NV. Spent a fair number of extra miles getting off the interstates to roam around in the Rockies, go through Arches National Park, etc. I had planned for the last year to drive the Corvair, but have been working 70 hours a week and haven't had time to prep that car for the trip. The SS was a better experience overall - much quieter and less drama about running at 85mph for hours at a time.

I think Utah is really underrated for beautiful scenic drives.

Got bored, ordered some 3M Metallic Black vinyl, did the door handles and re-did the rear Chevy badge I may have to re-do some of them since the cuts weren't the best but looks decent-ish. The vinyl film has the same flake as the OEM black trim pieces.
