There's a black 2015 with ~16k miles on it listed for $35k in Burlington, NJ. I may take a ride on Friday or Saturday since it's so close.

OK. So seriously, I'm concerned about how I'd fare going from a wagon to a sedan. I've actually never owned a sedan and I'm not sure my concerns are valid. It's been nice being able to fit big **** in the back of my car no problem, especially bikes on the roof with more stuffed in the back without removing wheels. I also just had ~400lbs of firewood in the back last month and I don't believe the SS would play as nicely with something like that.

Also, while it may sound stupid, I'm not sure I can go back to the regular rectangle sunroof. I love having a panoramic roof. Makes throwing large objects at cars behind me so much easier.

You do have some legitimate concerns, especially the throwing **** out the pano roof issue.

I can't really compare - I went from hatches to this. And reasonable people know that hatchbacks are no more space efficient than sedans when the rear seats are up. Less space than a real trunk, actually.

Maybe you should have bought Geoff's G8 so you coulda had both...

The trunk on these cars are a pretty decent size, and while the seats don't fold down there is a large opening that comes down. You can still get an OEM sunroof that mounts to the provisions on the roof. While your concerns are valid, I'm not sure if you'd have an issue with the car..either way definitely worth checking out the car in Burlington. The plus of the 2015 is you still have an aux in and a CD player.

I might need to take a look at yours in person. I've only seen a couple in the wild and they were spotted while driving so I haven't gotten any decent views of the interior or trunk space (aside from Google images).

Edit: also I am not trolling.

Does this mean if I ever really want to visit the NE I'm going to have to own an SS or I'm out of the club?

Can I rent one at the airport?

Unfortunately, I think it'll have to remain just that - a tease - not in a position to order a '17, but if there's another fire sale next fall, well, that might work. Just have to sell the wife, somehow....

Depending on her age, this may not be as hard as you think.

My need for American muscle is being rubbed a little too hard in this thread. If only we weren't having a baby it'd be so much easier to negotiate something like this.

It kind of sucks. I'm on my first sedan now after nothing but trucks, suvs, hatchbacks, and a wagon. A few weeks ago I had to go pick up two giant boxes of polyfill for my wife and they just barely fit. I was standing in the parking lot thinking "this is a pretty big damn car, why is the hole where you put stuff so small?". I made it work but it was an eye opener.

Er, sell the wife on the idea of it. She did like it when she drove it...

And since are kids are grown, younger one gets his license in 14 months...the lack of back seat doo-dads don't matter as much

I don't like the styling or wheels on the S2, so really wanted a S1. If I would have ordered one, it would have been identical to this one, I was lucky to find it only 2.5 hours away.

That being said, it depreciated at $10/mile, so I was happy with the deal!

That picture above it has been 6 weeks since I washed it, I love the Silver Ice Metallic!

Yes, just ask the person behind the counter for a "Malibu" and be sure to use air quotes.
