      No Double Wishbone Front Suspension?

      From http://speed-driven.com/index.php/la...edan-for-2018:

The MacPherson front and multi-link rear suspension has been tuned to provide optimal feedback to the driver.

Halt!!! I thought Genesis G80 which this is based on has DBW Front Suspension?

      G80 has a multi-link front suspension.

Amber rear turn signals. Clearly they're listening to TCL.

The more I see, the more I like....lease ends in 4/18, lease ends in 4/18.

So the Civic and Golf aren't cheap cars?

I'm cautiously optimistic about this car but I'm not getting on the hype train just yet.

They're segment leaders and I'm sure the investment makes more sense for them given the volume they put. The fact that Albert Biermann had a hand in this car's development and it's using a different suspension design than the Genesis G80 tell me some thought has been put into this car.

It is going to be heavy though, which sucks.

That's a 180 degree flip from your endless trash talk of everything Korean as far as I'm concerned. Congrats on a reasonable viewpoint.

The Golf has 'better' underpinnings to start with and the last generation Si was a phoned in effort.

I like the shift knob that's in the photos on Page 1, but most other photos I've seen show a much more ordinary looking knob.

There's a possibility that what you're seeing is a difference in trim specs.

Overall, this is a nice looking car. I might be interested in the 2.0T if its reasonably priced. Maybe I'd get an extra special loyalty bonus for owning and driving a Borrego for so long.

The speedo & tach are different in each photo

Probably the V6 and 4-cyl models.

The Achilles heel to Kia and Hyundai going upmarket is their dealer network.

Granted it's been 5 years since I stepped in a Kia dealer the experience was horrible. Salesman smoking out front, sales board visible to the area ipwhere we were sitting. Etc etc.

Maybe Kia will follow Genesis and offer some perks to pony up $40k+ for a Kia with the valet service.

Anyway can't wait for this to get released, it looks good.

Hmmmm. I also momentarily forgot their higher end EX-L trim level offered on the Optima, so it's possible they might do the same with this.

First is definitely a diesel. Note the redline at ~4500rpm.

For the record, I never "hated" Kia (or Hyundai for that matter). I commended that they packed their cars with equipment and made the package tempting to average buyers. I just never thought they stood out compared to the competition, and obviously their lack of driving intention is evident.

Since Peter came on board, they definitely have had it in the styling department, if you can ignore the too-much crossovers.

QFT. Hyundai/Kia dealers were some of the most unapologetic lazy *******s I've witnessed.

      Good eye.

The photo is grainy but it looks like the low redline interior has the speedo in km/h only, further suggesting a Euro only diesel.

This place has been humping Hyundais and Kias for years, until they actually drive one.

      How does this one drive?

What's wrong with the way the G80 or G90 drives? Or the second generation Genesis Sedan?

We shopped the Sorento before I picked up our 2nd Durango. We didn't buy it because it didn't meet our needs, but the dealership experience was actually pretty pleasant. We had an appointment, they remembered why we were coming in and had a vehicle ready for us to test drive. Fairly low/no pressure to buy that day.

The sales floor was quiet, modern and up-to-date. Brand new facility, so I think they're making strides.

When I went to look at a Genesis, the Hyundai dealer felt cheap/low rent...

The Stinger won't even touch Chevy SS numbers if we measure by TCL actual purchase metrics.
