Shame you guys hate FCA because a JGC would be a good fit. Seriously.

I was aware of that, just curious as to his reasoning for not wanting the Atlas. It is getting good reviews and the price very well placed. But I can understand where most people are coming from when concerning VW.

Nonetheless, here is my final say on this topic..

F-Pace is cool. She thinks they are gorgeous and it has the yuppie appeal that we want.

Colorado would probably drive better. 4runner is essentially the same platform as 20 years ago. I'm only 28 so the ride of a 4runner is fine to me. But I've heard other people say they felt it rode real rough especially for the $60k price tag top models command now. Glad she hates Nissan since they tend to have transmission issues.

I'd vote VW Atlas as well... nothing funny. XT5 would also be a natural for you.

4Runner is disqualified, cheapness all around, as durable it can be.
Colorado are almost as large as the full-size - I don't see the point.

      Now the serious stuff.

Honda Pilot/Acura MDX (leases are their argument), loaded Mazda CX-9 (despite that nasty engine, its appeal is high).

Not sure what you mean by nasty but isn't a diesel CX9 coming out this year?

      4runner for durability/reliability, XC60 for creature comforts.

So I figure a certain type of lightning struck it?

Dealer was diagnosing a noisy valve, tech "repaired it," went on a test drive, pooof!

You have to move up to a Sequoia to hit the $60k mark.

Thanks for explaining, so if you don't mind could you tell us which store it is so none of us have the "pleasure" of visiting it for service on our cars?

Seems like the tech is negligent in the very least.

The CX-9 has a better interior than the 'luxury' brand offerings. Highlanders depreciate half as fast though, and can still tow 5k. 4runner is crude and ancient

As I predicted the dealer swapped her loaner out for a 0 mile Acadia Denali. Sneaky bastards. I'll report back with our impression on Sunday. But it isn't our #1 or #2 ATM.

Do the rear seats fold flat or anything like it in the Wrangler Unlimited?

I suggest the Velar or upcoming XC60.

Could probably negotiate one with little or no options down to 45k. They start at around 48-49k IIRC. Seems like most of the stuff you need comes standard anyway
