I agree. It's like the designers were challenged to see how many circles, yards of quilted leather, and feet of led strip lighting they could cram into one interior.

I mean you could always just skip the quilted leather option, specify a monotone interior, get the Bose sound system so you won't have glitzy speaker grilles, and turn off the LED's. Taste must be carefully ordered.

I spent a good amount of last weekend in an S550 Maybach. Once you're in it, you'd shut up and stop complaining

Nothing this side of a Phantom touches the S-Class in terms of the interior imo

Looks interesting but I do not see those interiors aging well. They look the 2010's equivalent of the White 560SEC with white interior from 87.

Can you can the color of the ambient lighting to a warm beige or something? The blue looks out of place to me.

I was first exposed to an S-Class in the '80s when my cousin's grandmother got a navy 560 SEL with blue leather (or MB-Tex?) interior. They have a '14 S550 now in -- can you guess? -- navy. I appreciate the AMG versions but these cars always look best to me in non-sport trim.

If not a warm beige, surely at least 1 of the available 64 colors that should work for you

      The short answer: yes

There are 64 colors to choose from, and you can have different parts of the interior be different colors/not lit at all

Yes, much like the backlit Mercedes star grill option, you can decide how tacky you want to be these days with your luxury automobile

Personally I prefer my S-classes to be subtle, but these days, the manufacturers simply can't afford not to offer a little glitz and drama.

That Maybach is on point, though.

Totally agree with you on that. There's about sixteen-thousand colors, textures, materials, and patterns going on.

I can't believe the amount of power AMG is getting out of the 4.0L. It's really made the old 5.5L TT motor irrelevant and at 604/664, it's only making a little less in each category than the 65 engine.

Did not expect for that motor to have that type of headroom. Wild.

Oh, I agree. The word that comes to mind is "swoopy."

I'd still rock it, though, especially if the colors can be changed...

I think this front design still looks the best.

I know the current one is like this too, but why is the B-pillar chrome but the C-pillar not?

Are you counting the back window piece as a pillar? If so that's because they didn't want to draw attention to it.

Is orange one of the available 64 colors for the gauges?

That designo interior is available in the Maybach in either the pictured "designo Silk Beige/Titanium Grey Pearl Exclusive semi-aniline leather" or this "designo Silk Beige/Satin Red Pearl Exclusive semi-aniline leather":

I think I will have to pass on the grandma quilt pattern interior. Other than that you can pretty much change everything to your liking if you're not down with the tacky Las Vegas Casino approach.

I really do like this refresh much better than the outgoing one.....What's a 7 Series, and A8, totally never heard of them before.
