Terrafugia Transition. More of a plane that can drive than a flying car, but it exists

Old car guy here. Some cars have design features that are directly attributable to an aircraft influence, as stated by their designers themselves. The 1949 Cadillac's raised taillamps, which began the tailfin craze of the 1950s, were inspired by the WWII fighter aircraft P-38 Lightning. The twin-boom tail of the fighter plane affected Harley Earl greatly, and the Cadillac's fins were the result.

The excitement of the new "Space Age" of the late 1950s and 1960s inspired a lot of imagery in automobile design of the time. Look at the side profile of a 1961-63 Ford Thunderbird and it's not too hard to see a "rocketship".

Ok, so I'm going to have to be really bluntly honest here....I don't see it. I understand that the front of the Reventon LOOKS like the air intakes on the F22...and sure, the car is sleek and whatnot....but does it really have that classic spacecraft/aircraicft look to it? I don't think it does.

When I created this thread, I was really more thinking along the lines of cars like what VWLarry mentioned. Maybe I'm just forever stuck in the past. Either way, a lot of the posts here have suprised me.

Anyways, no, I don't think the Reventon or the R8 qualify here.

(Disclaimer: My opinion. Not backed by factual evidence.)

Yo, FedEx should totally scrap their airplanes. Instead, they should attach little wings and jet engines to all their boxed packages and let them fly themselves around! Talk about cost savings!

I feel as if the R8 and Lambo look very modern, and look almost like fighter jets. The whole look they have is just very intimidating.. like "don't even try ****ing with me".

There are a lot of these in northern VT, they just look like something out of the jetsons:

I actually almost got into a head on collision with him years ago when he went the wrong way down a 1 way.
