Not really movies or television but entertainment just the same.If so name your favorite piece's and bits as well as favorite guests.Mine would have to be Kevin pollack."Frankenstein never scared me" !Favorite piece would have to be "vague but true" .

Big fan here. I listen every morning, in the car and at work. Kevin Pollack is a phenomenon, ain't he? His take on Peter Falk is unbelievable! Tim Wilson and Drew Hastings, along with so many more of their guests, make Bob and Tom MUST LISTENING. They're just one more reason why I love my home-state; Indiana. I get so homesick at times, living out here on the East Coast aka "Hell", and Bob and Tom bring a nice, fun chunk of home to my ears everyday. It's a DAMNED CRIME that they can't play practically 90% of their recorded bits and commerical parodies because of the STUPIDITY of the FCC, ain't it?

Yeah you gotta love the FCC .Cameltoe was one of my favorite parodies they did.I haven't heard that in over a year .One of my other favorites is the guy that has the "ringtones" most notably Al Pacino,"You gotta phone call! You gotta phone call!ANSWER IT!

Remember the "Pinkly Taurus" ad? They have so much great material; it must drive them crazy that they're so censored. There's NOTHING "dirty" about a show like Bob and Tom. It's ribald, crude, and even sophmoric at times, but NEVER dirty. Thank God nobody could take away the wonderful chemistry between Bob, Tom, Chick, and Kristy. They're great.

For years, they broadcast a special Sunday-morning "Raceday" show on the morning of the Indianapolis 500. I don't know if they do anymore; it was something of a tradition in Indianapolis. Waking up drunk, smelly, and stupid on Georgetown Road, and turning on Bob and Tom as the Speedway came to life in the early morning hours...what memories (etc)

Our radio station, 93.5, kicked off a really good team, called Coffee and the Jammer, to put Bob and Tom on. I'm expressing my own opinion here and I speak for no one else in the greater Harrisburg area. I don't like them because I don't find them that funny. They're not really all that "shocking" and when they laugh, which is what I find most annoying, it sounds like someone is pushing a button to a laugh track... and they laugh all the time. There's nothing that funny but they're laughing... I don't get it! Like I said this is my opinion.... And they kicked a really good morning comedy team to air these guys... that also bothers me. But oh well... I just turn the station. If you don't like it... turn the channel!

I'm a big fan of The Bob & Tom Show. It provides good comedy for me in the morning. Love there regular guests... Heywood Banks, Tim Wilson, Drew Hastings, etc. The new Donny Baker is hilarious. Was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Gunner? He always filled in when either Chick or Bob were out. Now Mad Dog usually fills in, and I actually like hime better, but was wondering if anyone knew what happened to Gunner as a fill in?

If you guys don't like them that's fine, but I have a feeling that maybe you haven't given Bob and Tom a fair chance by listening for more than a short time. I used to think the exact same thing about them for years (they've been on the air for years), but I re-discovered them about 3 years ago, since the on-air talent out here in Dela(no)wareland is REALLY lame-oh, especially in the mornings. Bob and Tom aren't for everybody, but I sure am glad they're around. I've come to love them, and they're a part of my day everyday. As someone above mentioned, the Donnie Baker character they talk with is a SCREAM , and I always eagerly anticipate the next time Kevin Pollack drops in. That guy is is devastatingly funny, especially when he does his Christopher Walken or Peter Falk bits. These people (Bob, Tom, Chick, and Christie) laugh a lot on-air because, well, they're having a good time, they're genuinely funny, and also because laughter is infectious. Think what you like, I LOVE 'em.

The "Pinkley Taurus" commercial is a gutsplitter, but they can't play it on the air anymore (damn you FCC! ). I'm surprised nobody's mentioned "Beer Run", or "It's a Great Day For Me To Kick Somebody's Ass".

Bob and Tom are the "Bloater Brothers" of radio.
i can't stand hearing them laugh at their own jokes and stupid skits. they're about as funny as "Click and Clack" and their laugh is just as 'wonderful' to listen to. hence this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2198150 i should specify that the "Bloater Brothers" skit on SNL was hilarious because they showed you just how stupid people look when they spend all their time laughing at their own jokes. when people actually do this in real life, it's just sad. it's even worse when they get paid to do it daily and it's not just a comedy act. obin

Bob and Tom would be about 100x funnier if they stopped laughing at their own jokes. the best comedians are the ones that can deliver their lines and not laugh BEFORE the audience does.obin

You probably did not think that Napoleon Dynamite was funny either as them laughing at their own jokes is part of what makes them so funny. They were on a radio station here locally and about two months ago they were pulled off as the station they were on was a more christian oriented station, which I could not figure out why they would purchase their show in the first place? I love Mr. Obvious, and I can't remember the hick guy that comes on all the time, and remember hearing the first time I heard the song keepin your poop in a jar by Hayseed Dixie. I had to pull over as I was laughing so hard I almost crashed.

If you've ever watched the old Carol Burnett Show from the seventies, you'll realize that performers laughing at their own schtick while they're performing it can be very infectiously funny. This must be done WELL however, by professional comics, and if it is not, can be more embarrassing than funny. The Bob and Tom crew are v. much professionals, and they've perfected their on-air banter through many years of work on the radio. They are so professional that they make it seem easy to do. Some folks don't like their style, and that's alright too; they're not for everyone. But they didn't build their radio-syndication empire by being unfunny to millions of devoted fans, that's fersure. Note to Obin: I don't know if you go to the Indianapolis 500. I attended every one from '72 to '95, and it became a central part of my life. On Memorial Day Sunday Morning (VWLarry's most holy day of the year ), the Bob and Tom Show broadcasts (their home station only) their Indianapolis 500 special program (they are located in Indianapolis). It's an integral part of the Indy Experience, just like waking up in the dirt smelling like ass and drinking a six-pack of beer before 8AM and buying tickets from scalpers at 16th and Georgetown Road at the crack of dawn . Bob and Tom are devoted racing enthusiasts. 'Just thought you'd like to know that.

by "their own jokes" i mean their jokes and skits that they make together. it's like one guy has the "applause/laugh/make commotion" light tattooed to his head and it glows whenever he's talking. they would be 1000x funnier if they could just toss out the humour deadpan and decide that the audience was smart enough to laugh at the jokes and skits they think are funny. i don't need a running laugh track to remind me of what someone else in a studio thinks is funny, thank you. obin
