What did you do to yuor mk1 today?

I have seen this thread in the sciroccos thought it was neat, but yet a thread was not over here.

I looked at it as it was parked in my garage. Lousy weather here through midweek is keeping my baby indoors.

I did, however, find the business card for a guy I met at a show last fall; he does awesome work re-dying plastic interior pieces. Might pull a few pieces tonight and give him a call http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Gutted it, slammed it on 13x9s with 135/25-13s I sourced out of Croatia or something, added 20mm spacers in the rear and did some sick looking stencils on the doors and hood.
Like all skulls and iron crosses and stuff.
Keepin' real.

Continued day 3 of swearing at my low brake pedal...pulled the master cylinder out, found out the pushrod is way too short...have a feeling the rest of the day is going to be spent with my hand up the bottom of the dashboard >.< my kneebar is sharp

Re: What did you do to yuor mk1 today? (JUS_GT_EYEZ)

I drained the oil, which started as green coolant and finished with milkshake. Meantime, I had my girlfriend scraping rust on the floorpans and scuffing it with some scotch brite pads. We put in new battery connectors, and a battery, and checked the lights, etc. Engine didnt turn over by hand, so I didn't bother cranking it. Car overheated 7 years ago when it last ran, so I pulled the rusty cam (needs a good wire wheeling treatment), and ordered new:
Head gasket
valve cover gasket
timing belt
I'd have removed the head by now, but I don't own triplesquare's yet.
I specced out pricing for new:
piston rings
rod bearings
main bearings
Does anyone know where I can find seat pans before I have to make my own?
I will be working on removing the rods & pistons after my mac & cheese session.

Re: (KDI_CUSTOMS)

Built the bottom end on Red Wow's new engine, Figured out what valve shims I need to order, and helped my son put some new low in his new MkV Jetta with an old racing buddy.

Re: (All VW All the time)

eliminated a few vacuum lines, fixed my noisy grill and added an old school exterior hood release that lives in between the slats of my (now silent) grill http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
also, adjusted A/F mixture and fixed the puff of black smoke when doggin it.
