Its a $450 stand alone option. I searched for one without it, not a big fan. Especially on a Daytona car.

I am only 1.5-2 hours from Houston. I'll pick it up and make sure everything is ok. You know, floor mats are right side up and all. Just let me know. I'll even wash it and put some wax on.

Yeah. I have a good relationship with the dealer that built it and would have gotten it had I not asked for it. I gave him two cars for the one

Darn it. I have family in houston to use as an excuse for being there but you are closer for him to drive home than either my parents or inlaws and our house in Austin wouldn't be any better.

Cool car but just renting for a couple of years? Wouldn’t it feel better to actually own a super car?

What does this even mean? Unless you keep a car for the rest of your life, you're always "just renting" anyway, how is leasing a bad thing when you get a great deal?

Wow. Congrats. Curious to see what you'll think about a rear wheel drive R8, can't wait to hear your impressions!

      Congrats OP!

Seize the day! Don't save all your timeouts for the 4th quarter, etc. There is some truth to that approach!

I see R8 around every now & then, even in my neck of the woods, dat sound! The exotic look too, it's aged so well!

Now you've got me looking at GT-R's again on Autotrader, thanks! Only mild exotic I could reasonably consider owning some day... Please share delivery pics!

It will only be at 3/10ths so it will be a total waste of time. Might as well just drive around in a miata.

Youre welcome any time bud!! I mean you drive across the country all the time any way

Got a window sticker, so it is now ready to be released from port

When I emailed my distribution manager for corporate, he did mention they are a little light on enclosed trailers right now so it may take a few extra days

Sleep last night was a little rough.

      Very nice

Honest question - why would you not have quattro on something like that? I presume they have to sell some road cars to homologate the race version of it. Are the driving dynamics of it very different to the quattro?

The "purists" were complaining that Quattro took away from the driving experience. For me personally, it was about 50K cheaper to get one and the residual on the Quattro cars is a lot worse than the RWS since they are only bringing about 320 into the states.

Thing should be a blast. I've driven the current R8 V10, and the old LP550-2 Gallardo, and I feel like if you combined those two, you'd have one hell of an awesome car! Congrats!
