Yeah. I will, on nice days. but the biggest issue I am going to have is I live a whopping 5 blocks from work

I am going to have to let it warm up for 10 minutes to get it to temp when I get to work before shutting it down

An issue I thought of yesterday....

I wanted to do a brakestand to break in the rear tires, you know, because 11/tents.

But with launch control how is that possible!?

Even if you pay cash, unless you're keeping the car for the rest of your life, you'll eventually sell it. I don't see much difference between buying a car for X, owning it for Y years and selling it for Z vs. leasing a car for (X-Z)/Y per month

Honest question - why would you not have quattro on something like that? I presume they have to sell some road cars to homologate the race version of it. Are the driving dynamics of it very different to the quattro?
There are very few high-powered, RWD-based cars I would ever want with AWD. It adds weight, robs steering feel, and takes away a lot of the fun in my opinion

Maybe if you only lightly let off the brake, it won't try for launch control. It probably expects 100% release of the brake for launch control.

Otherwise you're just going to have to do burnouts in reverse!

If you bought a $78,000 pickup truck and wanted to pay it off in 48 months, even with zero interest, the payment would be $1,625 per month.

He's leasing a supercar for less money than it costs to own a pickup truck. By a decent margin at that.

Launch control might not allow excessive wheel spin. You might need to try laying into it from a dead stop and seeing if it'll spin tires without using LC. If it will, nail throttle, wait for the clutch to hook, and then add brake with your left foot.

I've seen all manner of automated manuals do brake stands so it's possible. Just make sure the clutch is hooked up or you'll have an expensive afternoon.

I like to purchase things that I do plan on keeping forever! Hand them down to my kids. Leasing a “super car” really is throwing ones money away. I guess if I was old money I wouldn’t care. I like the idea of passing it on. Just me. Probably why I don’t have a super car. Well, I do have a 1977 911 S that will hopefully stay in the family for many generations.

Not having kids makes it a lot easier to justify certain things in life.

In that theory, leasing any car is throwing ones money away.

I get it, different strokes for different folks.

And lets get one thing real. The only way I am able to swing this is to lease it, for a short term, because the residual is so high.

Because of this thread, I wonder how many (with a $500 monthly budget) will drive down to their nearest Audi dealer to negotiate an R8 lease!

Really cool OP. I love the way these look and they remind me of a modern NSX. An "affordable" supercar that you can daily so to speak.

oh ill do one better. i just PM'd smooremin to give me the same deal and ill pick it up in 2 weeks.

ill make sure to ignore all the parts where he explains its because he's a dealer, because i wouldn't want this experience to differ than the other 98% of them he has daily.

They’ll probably sell that thing 2 years later at around the same price new while ripping you off with their “crazy cheap” lease.

But that was in my head as a fall back. God forbid I knock her up or I lose my job, with only 320 units for the US, and the discount I got, I shouldnt really have an issue getting out of it if I need it.

Also, there are ways to not get pregnant while still having sex.
