Wife and I have been watching a season of Letterkenny per night the last three nights this week.

I did not realize you are also a man of fine Canadian culture.

True, but that's a lot more work than I want to do for what I could buy for $.79/gallon at the store. I might have to resort to that later this week if I still can't find any.

Interestingly, I saw that the local Safeway had restocked the drinking water but the distilled water was still out. I wonder if people are just buying distilled water more, thinking it's more "pure" or if the store is just slower to restock it.

It's drinkable but has a taste terrible. No minerals at all.

Maybe people are buying it for CPAP machines or the like.

They're buying distilled water to mix with their concentrated windshield washer fluid. Everyone knows that.

Went out for a run again today with the wife. Honestly, I'm pretty impressed with peoples' compliance. TONS of people enjoying the outdoors but trying to stay safe, and traffic is maybe 10% normal, maybe 20% at worst. The freeways are virtually empty. It's really nuts.

      Stay safe, everyone.
Supercar owners: If your housekeeper can afford to register their car in your state, so can you.
We've got an amazing country; don't like the taxes in your state, you can just move. How many other countries have this freedom?

Personally, I wouldn't find any solace in these numbers. There's likely thousands untested and asymptomatic.

On the local news the guy doing traffic reports is still doing his job. He has nothing to report! I suppose he's on there for a feeling of "normalcy" and because he's a reasonably popular/funny guy.

Our silver lining is clarity, then? I'm okay with that part, too. It's the kind of thing that makes me wonder how much this is going to change people's attitudes, outlooks, and priorities. Perhaps not at all, perhaps quite a bit. Only time will tell.

People in my local FB groups have a hard time understanding that "shelter in place" does not mean "barricade yourself in your house and stay there no matter what." It means avoid going places in groups, getting close to others, etc. A bike ride or walk around the neighborhood is just fine, and a great way to get out of the house. We've been trying to do one or the other every day just to preserve sanity, and I spent a lot of Saturday and Sunday working out in my yard. But OMG, the Facebook groups, "WHAT ARE PEOPLE DOING OUTSIDE OMGGGGGGGG...."

not exactly the perfect thread for it, but I figured why not.
