beautiful car! I really like these alot, the only thing that gives me pause is what everyone says about all modern Porsches 'gears being too long'. On my lowly E36 M3, this is an easy fix as you can buy a rear diff for not a whole lot and get super short gears. Although stock 3.23 is fine.

You're not wrong in that they're long gears. It's the same gearbox as the 981 GT4, but with a higher red-line (8000 rpm). That will get you to ~84mph in 2nd gear
I haven't found it to be an issue at all though. You can still drive spiritedly and not red-line the car, and it still feels fast (new motor has a lot more torque in the mid-range).

      Congrats!!

      Love, love, love the color.

What's the complete spec? You said it was 95% of what you wanted, but curious as to the what the full spec is.

Did I mention I love the color?

Really awesome spec, congratulations! I love the sofas. I really think the LWBs are for show over function in most everything short the RS models. I would order the sofas in any non-RS GT car going forward. Nicely done. On the PCCB front, the brakes need a lot of heat to bed in appropriately. My touring sounded like a school bus coming to a stop until I did a single 15 minute session at Road Atlanta, and then they were totally silent. There are some bed-in procedures on rennlist you can check out...I did them, but I still that even that isn't enough heat to get everything up to appropriate temps for the system to bed correctly. Love the color. The deviated stitching and aluminum pedals look great as well

Edit: and totally agree that GT cars should be skittles

It's definitely getting a coat, but I have a guy here I've done business with on my previous 2 cars (who also has an XPEL person come in as well).
      I appreciate the offer though!

Also, I am not in PCA currently. I'm thinking I should join at this point

It will be mainly a daily driver (yes, even winter). But I'd be mad at myself if it never saw the track. I usually plan to do 1-2 days at the track each summer (either Mid-Ohio or Nelson's Ledges)

I was open to buckets (and almost bought one off a lot that had them) but I wasn't really sold on it. I had sat in them before and they fit just fine, but a couple things bothered me:
      - No heated option
      - Wife would hate getting in/out of them
      - The thigh length was not long enough (I have long legs, and love the ability to extend the thigh bolster out in 18-ways/14-ways)

I was apprehensive about the aluminum pedals.. in the configurator they look smooth and shiny and I thought they'd be too slippery. But in person they have a rough texture on the top of them that makes it easy to grip.

Congrats OP I've been drooling over the GT4 since the 981 was announced, such a great car.

Yeah, I have to say that's been my main barrier to even considering a Porsche.

From most people I've talked to, the Cayman offers more accessible performance on the road and is every bit as quick as a 911 at anything less than 10/10ths. Plus it is compact, tasty lookin' and you can get more goodies for your money.

Step-by-step thought process that led me here:
      1. If I didn't want to wait until November when my previous lease was up, I need to do a pull-ahead which meant a new Porsche
      2. Manuel. He's only available on new 992 C2S models (not base), and with all the options I want (which honestly weren't that many) it was ~$10-15k more expensive (out of budget barring a discount / clearing out my savings).

      3. I wanted a Porsche GT car. I would have "settled" for a new GTS 4.0 if things somehow didn't work out, but I don't think it would have scratched the itch.
      4. I thought about waiting until November and picking up a used GT3 6MT, but those were still in the same price range (for the options I wanted) as a new 992 C2S, which was also still out of my price range.

Now that the 911 is widebody only, and more limited in manual selection, the Cayman 4.0/GT4 is absolutely the way to go.

What a gorgeous car! I'm not the first to say it here, but I adore that color.

Hopefully I'll run into at a track day and get to take a closer look!

Cool car, but I'm assuming you could buy a house in Cleveland for that kind of money.
