      VCDS Help

      Car is 2008 C6 A6 3.2 Quattro.

I've got a code on the dash for defective adaptive headlight. Headlights work, so with that being said is there a way to code it completely out? In other words, just turn off the adaptive headlights and make it stop monitoring the code? I can VCDS and this is the result for the fault.

From my experience with later cars, open address 55, click on coding. Do you see boxes that can be 'check marked'?

Give me a few minutes, I'll grab my cable and try to walk you through this.

      Open 55: Headlight range

      Click Coding-07

      Click Long coding helper

You might see boxes, for my car I went to the fifth box (0B),

Byte 4, Bit 1 Is this box 'Checked'? If so unchecking the box should turn off the dynamic cornering lights.

      Hope this helps.

Edit: If this works you will also have to open 'Fault Codes-02' and clear the code. If the code keeps coming back then you'll need someone else to chime in.

      Sweet. I'm glad it worked.

Now scan your car for any other fault codes. Then save the fault scan for reference (it will save as a word document).

There was a bit more to it, but overall not bad.

I’d never subject myself to a Mk4, sir.

No but Erik did. And so did I.

It was a decent car. But then again, it was after a mkIII VR6 and before a B5.5. And between Subarus 1 & 3 for that matter. It was a decent beater, just too small for newlyweds with a newborn.
