So they insist that there is no coolant leak. They have pressure tested the system, checked for coolant stains, etc. No coolant leak, scout's honor.

So I went there this morning, and they way over-filled the coolant reservoir. I took detailed, time-stamped photos of the coolant level.
You don't think they'd lie, would you? They reason they overfilled the reserve tank is to keep stalling.

It's clear from your previous posts that you do have a leak and they just are trying to wash their hands of the situation.
Hoping that you go somewhere else.

I'd take the car to another dealer and see what happens. Post back.

It was a satellite phone actually. Diamond encrusted satellite phone. Cardi B sold it to me. It has an odd ring tone. It just goes WAP WAP WAP.

But yes the lotus was broken.

Interesting thread..... As I understand it, a car should not "consume coolant", the only way I can foresee coolant loss is through evaporation, not gunna happen in a closed system or the car overheats and expels coolant. Given no description of overheating has been described, there has to be a leak of some nature.

Brake fluid change is easy. I've always done it with a helper pumping the brake pedal. Now there was a time when doing a brake fluid change and no fluid was being expelled, I'm puzzled, when wife asks "brake pedal is one on the left, correct?" Um no, that's the clutch pedal. She drove a manual for many years but it had been quite a few since she had done so. Once the correct pedal was getting depressed, changing the brake fluid process proceeded normally. Just get a long funnel to avoid getting brake fluid on the paint, and take it slow.

Please share a pic of the coolant level in the reservoir tomorrow morning after the engine has cooled off overnight.

      Best Regards.

      Epilogue

So the dealer flashed the engine and transmission back to stock. That's fine -- I was expecting that. It reminded me how much the tunes really change the character of the car.

So I purchased the Integrated Engineering Stage 2 engine and DSG tunes. I have used IE on my old Audi TTS and my friend's MK7 GTI. Each time I install it, I love the tune, but there's always a quirk.

I flashed the engine and transmission yesterday.

      WOW.

The engine tune is NOTICEABLY more powerful in the 5,000-7,000 rpm range than APR. My friend who drives my car occasionally took it for a ride and agreed. I have no idea if APR just errs on the side of engine longevity, or what the deal is, but the IE tune is more powerful.

The transmission tune is a mixed bag. Whereas the APR DSG tune was designed to mimic an OEM-quality transmission tune, the IE is not. It is much more abrupt and sudden, particularly when starting out in first gear. It almost feels like a first-gen Ferrari F1 Transmission in a 360 Modena. That said, it revs to a full 7,000 rpms, and it pulls harder and longer in the rev band the APR tune.

The other downside is that it auto-upshifts in manual mode when you hit 7,000 rpms. The APR would slam you into the rev limiter, like a real manual car. The IE tune upshifts. It does disable the "kickdown" feature on hard throttle application.

      Overall:

      Engine Tune: I.E. > APR
      Transmission Tune: APR > I.E.

It's a mixed bag. Since you're not supposed to mix-and-match engine and transmission tunes, I would say go APR if your goal is OEM-like drivability, but go I.E. if you want the car to behave more like an aggressive sports car.

After tuning my engine, one of my keys is no longer recognized by the car. Just one. Not both. I changed the battery. Nothing.

That’s a feature. My Lotus forgot both keys last weekend. That’s a double feature.
