Attended the Long Roof Rally Yesterday and Met a TCL Legend

A few weeks ago I got a PM from Smooremin about a rally I had no idea about in my own back yard. I was able to get registered right before they closed the rolls as did my buddy Topher with his E63 AMG. He and I rolled over to Stratton, VT yesterday to take part in the cruise through Vermont.

Was a great group of guys and I was able to meet Brandon in person after years of knowing him in here. Great guy and let me tell you the RS6 is every bit as amazing in person as it is digitally and more. The cruise was good if not a little disorganized, but it sounds like many beers were had on Saturday night so I can understand. Next year I plan to attend the entire event and take part in the night life.

I was greeted by another TDI wagon when we arrived.

And a really nice looking eTron. Loved the color.

Shortly thereafter the man, the myth, the legend...

Colors are a little subdued due to the dry weather this summer but still some pockets.

      Navarra is amazing.

      Out on the road...

RS3 in BRG was also stunning

      TDI B5 Avant

Had a great time and again great to meet you and the wife Brandon. Thanks for letting me sit in the new ride and if you ever want to come back East you guys have a place to crash here.

These types of rallies have been catching my interest lately. There are a couple in MN that are a little too brotastic for my liking but I've seen some others that look like a good time. A bunch of Euro wagons in Vermont sounds like an amazing weekend! Thanks for sharing the photos.

Fake News - not one Volvo or Saab pictured. Cannot possible be Vermont.

      Man, I really miss my B6 S4.

      How was the route itself?

Route wasn't bad at all but the google maps that was sent out for navigation was seemingly simultaneously mapping the route there and back as it had been done as a round trip. Route 100 is a great road to cruise on. There were quite a few leaf peepers out though so frequent rolling roadblocks going 10-20mph under the posted limit.

Also there were three or four times when we detoured off of Route 100 on side roads only to get back onto Route 100 a few miles later. It caused some confusion at times and we ended up in some congestion that probably could have been avoided. I'm assuming google maps saw these as "shortcuts" and included them in the route so no fault to the organizers really just got a little confusing.

At one point everyone was headed through an intersection where we were supposed to turn left on Route 100. My buddy was in front and called me to let me know but we were all following each other and it ended up bringing us to 100 again.

I think if it were mapped out a little better and with a few planned group stops along the way it might have been better but all in all it was a blast to be out as a group rolling through Vermont.

There were quite a few short roofs there. I don't think it would be a problem.

I think I saw like 5 Bolts on the backroads leading up to the mountain on Saturday, I've not seen that many down here since getting mine in January

Had a good time, drove my Rabbit up to Hartford and took a ride with another member out to Lime Rock

Doesn't count - you can't take a photo anywhere in Vermont without a Subaru photobombing you.
